District and substate assignments for all classes are now available for the 2021 basketball postseason.
Postseason competition begins with Class 1A preliminary round games on Friday, February 12, followed by first round games on Monday, February 15 in Class 2A and Class 1A.
Class 4A and Class 3A begin postseason play with first round substate games on Monday, February 22.
For bracket purposes, the winners of District 1 and District 2 will play in Substate 1, the winners of District 3 and District 4 will play in Substate 2, and so on. Pairings will be available in February following coaches’ seeding meetings. Higher seeded teams host as available.
Eight teams from each class advance to the 2021 state tournament, currently set for March 8-12 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
Tickets are $6 for district games and $8 for substate finals.
