The Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union will be hosting the “New Administrators/Athletic Director’s Workshop” to be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at the IHSAA Office in Boone. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM and the workshop will conclude at 3:30 PM. There will be no cost for the workshop. Lunch and workshop materials are included.
In addition to this one day workshop, a pre-workshop option will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the IHSAA Office in Boone. All participants are able to take LTC Course 501 at no charge. This course is approximately 3 1/2 hours in length and will begin at 6:00 PM at the IHSAA office. There is normally a $150 fee to take a course. LTC course 501 serves as an overview for interscholastic athletic administrators. This course introduces the philosophy of educational athletics then focuses on the roles of the NIAAA, the NFHS and the IHSAA and IGHSAU.
