West Des Moines Valley Duo Wins State Co-Ed Tennis Title

The West Des Moines Valley duo of Kent Lehr and Chelsey Glynn captured the 2001 Iowa State Co-Ed Tennis Championship.

Glynn, this year's Class 2A state singles runner-up, and Lehr, a state doubles qualifier, topped the Columbus squad of Lindsey Winninger and Adam DeLorbe, 6-4, 6-2 in the title match. They advanced to the finals with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over the Boone team of Marie Schutte and Scott Little. Schutte and Little topped the Urbandale team of Heather Saluri and Todd Asper, 2-6, 6-0, 6-2, in the consolation match.

Forty-nine teams competed in the annual event, which is believed to be the only one of its kind in the nation.
