Re:             "Ethics for Iowa Educators" Online Training

Date:          November 30, 2006

This summer, Heartland completed work on the "Ethics for Iowa Educators" online training for Iowa practitioners. The training covers Chapters 25 and 26 of the Iowa Administrative Code and presents topics and concerns relevant to professionals working with PreK-12 students. Designed in collaboration with the Board of Educational Examiners and the Department of Education, the online training is now available on the Heartland website at http://aea11.k12.ia.us under the Quick Links area.

Heartland is pleased to offer the "Ethics for Iowa Educators" training at no cost to all Iowa licensed practitioners who work in accredited K-12 schools/districts. Those who successfully complete the online training can save or print a certificate to document their work.

The Ethics for Iowa Educators training is an approved activity for coaches seeking to renew their coaching authorization. Coaches who work for accredited K-12 schools in Iowa will need to contact their district offices for appropriate passwords. Others will need to select “pay customer” when registering online.

Thank you.
